FIRST® and LEGO® once again remind us that educational robotics is much more than building robots.

The 2026–2027 FIRST® season is presented under the name FIRST® CANOPY™, with a deeply relevant theme: biodiversity. Its central message is powerful: Engineer a thriving planet with FIRST®.

For FIRST® LEGO® League, the new challenge will be the BIOGLOW™ Challenge, launching on August 4, 2026. This season will invite teams to explore the richness of ecosystems, the connections between species, the importance of nature, and the role that science, technology, and innovation can play in protecting our planet.

The challenges for other programs were also announced:
🤖 BIOBUZZ™ presented by RTX for FIRST® Tech Challenge
🏭 BIOCORE™ presented by Haas for FIRST® Robotics Competition

These new announcements open a great opportunity for coaches, educators, families, and mentors: to guide students through an adventure where robotics connects with life, sustainability, creativity, and teamwork.

As a FIRST® LEGO® League coach, each season reminds us that we are not only preparing teams to compete. We are helping shape young people who can research, imagine solutions, communicate ideas, collaborate with respect, and look at the world’s problems with hope and responsibility.

Because in FIRST® LEGO® League, students come for the robots…
but they grow through the experience.

FIRST® y LEGO® vuelven a recordarnos que la robótica educativa es mucho más que construir robots.

La temporada 2026–2027 de FIRST® se presenta bajo el nombre FIRST® CANOPY™, con un tema profundamente relevante: la biodiversidad. Su mensaje central es poderoso: Engineer a thriving planet with FIRST®.

Para FIRST® LEGO® League, el nuevo reto será BIOGLOW™ Challenge, que se lanzará el 4 de agosto de 2026. Esta temporada invitará a los equipos a explorar la riqueza de los ecosistemas, las conexiones entre especies, la importancia de la naturaleza y el papel que la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación pueden tener en la protección de nuestro planeta.

Como coach de FIRST® LEGO® League, cada temporada nos recuerda que no estamos formando solamente equipos para competir. Estamos ayudando a formar jóvenes capaces de investigar, imaginar soluciones, comunicar ideas, colaborar con respeto y mirar los problemas del mundo con esperanza y responsabilidad.
